The conference is a mere month away! If you're planning on attending, I hope you'll make it a priority to get registered this week. Remember that every building is different in terms of how they get to attend the conference: ASB can pay, building professional development, district resources, etc. But, you never know until you ask!
Please let me know if you're planning on attending the conference, just haven't done the paperwork, yet.
There's some information at the bottom of this email about Jared Campbell, the speaker heading to Eatonville High School on March 23rd. Please make note of that if you want to bring Jared to your school!
Conference Information
Our conference will be held at the Yakima Convention Center March 11th-13th, 2015. Registration is open on http://www.wacaonline.org/ the Red Lion. The Holiday Inn is nearly halfway full and the Red Lion still has many reservations.
--> We are looking for conference presenters and I know that many of you have a ton of great ideas to share with others. If you have a leadership lesson or activity, please consider sharing it with the delegates. This can be a short (10 min) Meet the Pros session or a longer breakout session (50 minutes). If you are interested, please "apply"--but really this is ust a presenter registration form:

**Remember, presenting is great professional development and it really helps us walk our talk (we ask students to get up and give speeches in front of the whole school for elections and assemblies). You can present with a friend (Becky and I presented together for years, and we've never taught in the same building together). A bonus to presenting is getting the treasure trove of handouts from all presenters, since we know you've taken a leap to present and have missed other presentations as a result.
Resources and Information (sorry, still mostly Seahawks based, ha) Richard Sherman/LOB before the Super Bowl:

--> SO many great statements, especially toward the end of the article
when he begins talking about his son.
Pete Carroll after the Super Bowl:

--> Good conversations about resilience and talking about what defines a
person
Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Pratt (Star Lord) make good on
their Super Bowl bet:

--> The definition of a friendly rivalry, especially after you see how the
Patriots behaved in their Super Bowl parade (good talk about sportsmanship)
