Hi all!
For those of you who don't know, I'm Michelle Munson and in early March, I was elected as your Area #2 WACA Representative for the next two years. Before you read much further, I want to apologize if this email has reached you in error. My intent is to reach out to current Activity Coordinators, leadership teachers, class advisors, bookkeepers, and administrators that have attended WACA. However, I'm learning that gathering up-to-date information for this group can be rough! If you want to keep receiving this email, no worries – you don’t have to do a thing. If you want me to drop you from the list, please let me know right away, and I’ll update/correct the list. If you are not the right person, but you know who is, please let me know that as well. I’d really appreciate the help. Thank you!
Whether you stuck close to home or vacationed afar, I hope you had a chance to "fill your bucket" with rest and relaxation during Spring Break. I spent the week at home, working on a bathroom remodel and throwing the ball back and forth with my son. It was delightful and the remaining 8 weeks of the school year do not seem as daunting as they did in March!
Thank you to all who attended the conference in the Tri-Cities. It was really fun to get together and be a part of the largest area group at the conference. If you were a delegate and haven't had a chance, you can still complete the survey about the conference. Kia did a great job gathering feedback from our area, but if you want to give more detailed feedback, please complete the survey about the conference. http://www.wacaonline.org/
I hope you've been able to use one or two of the tools you gathered from a workshop or heard from a speaker at the conference. For me, one of my favorite sessions was the workshop Ryan facilitated with regards to using videos in classes and I am loving the online video resource that Ryan has put together. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, I highly recommend it. The videos make a perfect addition to a lesson and often helps the kids connect the dots. http://www.wacaonline.org/video-library.html
If you have any questions, concerns or want to give feedback for the board to discuss as planning for the 16-17 WACA conference (March 15, 16, 17 2017 in Vancouver) commences, I'd love to hear from you.
Have a great day!
Michelle
