Fund Raising Cafeteria Service (submitted by Susan Jackson, Evergreen Junior High)
To make lunches run efficiently and earn money for clubs, provide 7-10 students per lunch to work for 15 minutes as a lunch server. The cafeteria pays the salary directly to the club. This earns clubs and sports teams minimum wage and allows lunchs to be completed in 15 minutes due to the extra help.

Marriott Lunch Service (submitted by Susan Jackson, Evergreen Junior High)
For the last two years, we have worked with our lunch service (Marriott). Ccubs and Sports groups work 10-15 lunch shifts. They earn minimum wage for their groups. This has several advantages – no effort fun raiser, it makes our lunch lines much faster, and it allows for more lines and variety.

Sell Orange Crush cans of soda to students who want them to delivered to someone that they have a "crush" on. Include cards for them to write an anonymous messages and arrange to deliver them on a special day, such as Valentine's Day. For an additional cost, people who receive a crush soda can pay to find out who sent it to them.

Parking Lot Spots (submitted by Holly Raedel, Komachin Middle School)
Stencil print, such as mascot paw print, on driveway entry to school parking lot and other parking areas. As a fundraiser, stencil names of students and families on the spots. Can also sell personalized parking spots for staff. High Schools can also sell "Senior Parking Spot."

Rent-A-Gopher (submitted by Suzanne Metzler, Mariner H.S.)
Ask seniors and staff members to volunteer a service. Some examples include staff members might buy lunch at Taco Bell and bring on campus for students, or seniors might carry books to class. Be sure to get advance teacher permission if it might involve being late to class. Also, have students choose services that are on campus during the school day (ie. not take to a movie at night) and if they involve food, make sure it is sealed and/or store bought. Type up an auction program and publicize. Hold auction during lunch. Be sure to get a student actioneer who is very outgoing and it turns into a very fun lunchtime activity. Students and staff pay at the auction for the service which means 100% profit for the fund raiser and the gophers perform the service within one week of the auction.

Senior Class Tile Wall (submitted by Kentridge High School)
Each year, during Homecoming Week, the senior class purchases 4" ceramic tiles in our school colors. Each senior writes their name of their tile and decorates it accordingly. The senior class officers then create a mosaic design with the tiles, adhering them to two 4' x 8' sheets of plywood. The mosaic is then attached to the senior hall wall for all the class, school, community to view, enjoy, and experience.

Spice Up Your Coin Drive Fundraisers (submitted by Cathy Sork, Ft. Vancouver H.S.)
  • Penny Mile: Set goals about how many miles of coin to collect. Have students figure out how pennies side-by-side it would take to reach 1 mile. Advertise according to distance, racing to a destination, or racing on a track.
  • Collect Presidents on President's Day: Advertise according to the President's on the coin and set goals to collect "presidents"
  • Penny War: Collect in large jugs by grade or homeroom. Pennies are positive points, while silver and dollars are negative points. For example, 10 pennies + 1 dime = 0 (because they cancel each other out)
  • Rolled Coin for Free Time: Give the class free time for the amount of minutes it takes that teacher to roll the coin that was collected.
  • Coin Contraptions: From a local business, such as McDonalds, where you put a coin into a contraption that causes it to wind around and around. People will give coin just for the fun of watching it.
  • Weight in Pennies: Set goals about how many pounds of pennies you will collect. Advertise according to collecting the weight of a person, the mascot, or a large object in the school.
  • Penny Challenge: Fill large pickle jars with water and place a baby food jar in the bottom. Students drop coins into the water. Coins that land in the baby food jar get a prize.
  • Make a Change Week: Give money to make a positive change or difference for a charity or cause.

  • All Washed Up (high school): If the student coin campaign is reached, staff washes student cars during lunch time

Spirit Links
Assign a different color to each class. Have students sell "spirit links" to every member of their own class for $0.10 a piece. Put their name on the paper link. The spirit links are just strips of paper linked together by staples. Each link needs to be in the color of the class and at the end of the week, stretch links (separate by class) side-by-side down the gym floor. The longest chain wins.

Student Rumage Sale (submitted by Check Niemi , Mountain View H.S.)
Get rid of your junk. Items people have saved for years by having a garage-type sale in the student center. Set up just like a garage sale at home by pricing items, setting a date, and publicizing the sale.

Tape 'em Up 1 (submitted by Cathy Sork, Ft. Vancouver H.S.)
For .50 cents, sell tickets for strips of duct tape. The goal is to tape the principal to the wall of the gym during an assembly, Have them stand on a table or chair while being taped and then pull it away. (For safety, make sure when the tape comes off there are spotters so they don't come off face first. Also, do not leave them up for a long period of time because it can get really warm. Lastly, wear long sleeves.)

Tape 'em Up 2 (submitted by Rachel, Carmichael Middle School)
During lemonaide stand fund raiser, tape was issued for humber of items sold. Vice Principal was taped to the wall at a dance. This was a motivater for the fundraiser activity.

Thirsty Teachers (submitted by Bill Oman, Fort Vancouver High School)
Take advantage of large August district meetings and back-to-school trainings that kick off each new school year. Leadership kids or a specific class can sell bottled water and.or snacks to employees at these meetings. It's a nice way to get a jump start on the building the ASb budget for the year.
